Origami Jars For Sale

very, very cool.
I went to your etsy site earlier! Very cool! I added you to my favorite shops! :-) I hope you make lots of money. It is just my opinion, but I would have made the prices a bit higher??? Origami is a lot of work in my opinion and you made 1000's of those cranes and stars! Nice work and cool web design! ^___~
$8, come on I thought we discussed this ;-{ oh well, it's up to you of course, but I still think 12/24 is a better price point. Congrats on finally getting it up! Good luck!
Awww super cute! I loved creating those little stars... those took so much effort! Wow! I can't wait to set up my own etsy shop in the summer^^

I don’t see where you and Lazy fit in the same sentence, if I felt like I had accomplished a fourth of what you have done then I would be ecstatic. But that’s not the case; I was also expecting to see the usual price I see on a lot of things on “Esty” why so inexpensive compared to some items on there that took no effort and no imagination, yours are about 400% cheaper if not more then that percentage. Love the unusual shaped containers even those are well worth the price you have let alone all the work you put into creating those origami stars. Your are a truly talented person, one who finds something that interest her and goes for it to learn how to do it, just my guess but it sounds like it fits you. Can’t wait to see what you get involved into next, and good luck with the sale.

They look so pretty! Nice hobby of yours! =)

I used to do this with my sister way back when I was still in grade school. :)

Cool!! I used to do those little folded stars too, and it would take forever to fill a jar, but soon enough it would be full and then another jar and then another jar! I used to give them to people on their birthdays because it's good luck!

I'd have to agree with tranbonium - you need to bump your prices a bit - I'm sure those jars alone cost more than what you're charging!!! Of course, you'll get more bees with less expensive honey :)
Thanks big bro. ^__^
I was thinking of making the prices higher, but in all honesty, I just want to get rid of them! It is a lot of work, but I did it all in joy and with no intention of making money. I would keep them all if I wasn't trying to cut down on clutter, lol. Slow but sure... I already donated 2 boxes of stuff to Good Will... this weekend I plan on going through all my clothes and donating those. We'll see!!
Lol yes we did discuss it, but like I told my sister, I'm just looking to get rid of them! The $8 will cover the cost of the jar, the paper, and a little bit of labor. Shipping is additional (of course) so the net earnings will be $8 per jar anyways (they're not THAT big, anyways). Who knows, if I start selling a few maybe I will raise the price, but so far, nothing!
Ahhh are you going to sell magnets in your Etsy shop? I'll so buy one. ^__^ You should make a few cupcake ones, hehe.
The reason I'm not charging more is because I'm not really looking to make any real money... I just want to get rid of them all. The cost covers the cost of the jars and the paper, and not much more. If I start selling a few I might raise the price, but really, I just had fun making them, I never expected to make any money off of them. Now.... cupcakes I might charge good money for, haha.
I love making origami stars/cranes. My hands must always be moving, and folding paper is a more productive way of keeping them busy. I must have a nervous disorder!
That's a good idea! I never thought about doing that... except I think half my friends already own one of the starjars I made!

On a sidenote... I'm going to the gym for the first time in a few months today! I joined a gym across from my work so I'm going to start going there during my lunch breaks. I have the mindset of "if I can't do 60 minutes it's not worth doing at all" but I'm trying to cure that and be happy with doing only 30 min/day... of course it's better than nothing but I can't seem to get around that "all or nothing" mindset. :P I'm going to start week 1 of couch to 5k... wish me luck!
That's the idea... I just want to get rid of them. I didn't make them with the intention of making money, just for fun. Eventually I got WAAAAY too many and now I just want to get rid of them...while still making a *little* money in the process. ^__^
Sugar on top!
How awesome!! I'm glad you're starting C25K. It's such a great program and I can't promote it enough! Hehe... Best of luck with it! I'll be cheering you on from here.
Thanks! Off I go now... ^__^
Oh, this shop sounds wonderful! Congratulations on setting it up. I think that what you chose to sell is just perfect for you, sweets. It's something you love to do and it represents who you are as a person: fun, magical (tee hee) and willing to make people happy with every ounce of fun. ^__~ Plus, you have a history with oragami, which makes your background with what you're selling seem very thick. Yays!

I will have to visit your shop. I just got finished with designing a banner for someone's Etsy shop, and it made me itch to get my very own Etsy shop. *sigh* I'm thinking about going into the plushie doll and painting business.

Etsy lovers... unite! n__n
Awww, thanks. ^__^ It took me forever to get my bum in gear and finally set it up. All the jars were just sitting in boxes in my garage for the longest time, and once we had some nice weather, I took them all out and shot photos of them. I've been doing origami for over 10 years now so you can imagine how many jars I had! I've still got an entire box full of cranes that aren't even IN jars!

I was pretty lazy with my Etsy banner... I put it together in about 5 minutes because I just wanted everything to be DONE. It was right after I got done spending about 2 hours adding all the items to Etsy, so I was pretty tired by that point. Eventually I'll have to go back and see if I can come up with anything prettier or more creative. If you have any ideas for it, let me know! ^__^

You should definitely think about opening your own Etsy shop! I would certainly purchase my own homemade Lauren goodie. ^__^ Shawn could even sell some of his hemp bracelets on it with you, if he really wanted! Do you make your own plushies or paint very often?
