Origami Jars For Sale
After months and months of procrastination and laziness, I finally got my butt in gear and got my Etsy shop up and running. My original idea was to create my own website to buy/sell my origami jars, but decided users would feel more safe buying from a well known, secure website. So I scrapped my website idea and began getting my jars together. I spent last week taking photos and editing them to put online, and spent most of today measuring the jars and adding them to my Etsy shop. I was really surprised to see how much I had... it was a little bit scary how many bags of origami I still have sitting in bags, unused.
All of this origami is the product of over 10+ years of folding. I started my freshman year of high school in Spanish class, and it just kept on going from there. I would fold while listening to lectures, while watching movies, while talking on the phone, while driving lost distances in the car, or while waiting in a waiting room. I was initially going to keep everything myself but it became too much, and definitely isn't helping in my goal to become clutter free. Sooooo, I'm selling them all online. I'm not really looking to make much money... the prices mainly cover the cost of the jar and the cost of the paper, with only a slight amount for labor (it was all a labor of love anyways). Please feel free to let me know if you're interested in anything or have any questions ^__^

I don’t see where you and Lazy fit in the same sentence, if I felt like I had accomplished a fourth of what you have done then I would be ecstatic. But that’s not the case; I was also expecting to see the usual price I see on a lot of things on “Esty” why so inexpensive compared to some items on there that took no effort and no imagination, yours are about 400% cheaper if not more then that percentage. Love the unusual shaped containers even those are well worth the price you have let alone all the work you put into creating those origami stars. Your are a truly talented person, one who finds something that interest her and goes for it to learn how to do it, just my guess but it sounds like it fits you. Can’t wait to see what you get involved into next, and good luck with the sale.
They look so pretty! Nice hobby of yours! =)
I used to do this with my sister way back when I was still in grade school. :)
On a sidenote... I'm going to the gym for the first time in a few months today! I joined a gym across from my work so I'm going to start going there during my lunch breaks. I have the mindset of "if I can't do 60 minutes it's not worth doing at all" but I'm trying to cure that and be happy with doing only 30 min/day... of course it's better than nothing but I can't seem to get around that "all or nothing" mindset. :P I'm going to start week 1 of couch to 5k... wish me luck!
I will have to visit your shop. I just got finished with designing a banner for someone's Etsy shop, and it made me itch to get my very own Etsy shop. *sigh* I'm thinking about going into the plushie doll and painting business.
Etsy lovers... unite! n__n
I was pretty lazy with my Etsy banner... I put it together in about 5 minutes because I just wanted everything to be DONE. It was right after I got done spending about 2 hours adding all the items to Etsy, so I was pretty tired by that point. Eventually I'll have to go back and see if I can come up with anything prettier or more creative. If you have any ideas for it, let me know! ^__^
You should definitely think about opening your own Etsy shop! I would certainly purchase my own homemade Lauren goodie. ^__^ Shawn could even sell some of his hemp bracelets on it with you, if he really wanted! Do you make your own plushies or paint very often?
